i loved FC (and still do!) because it was an exciting web3 project that I could access w/o crazy crypto money. i was initially stoked about @purple — and then realized it feels just like other plutocratic DAOs where governance rights are bought, not earned. is $$ the best way for us to organize? what am i missing?

is bidding and buying an NFT the only way to become a Purple DAO member though? agree that the mission of Purple can be achieved through many different formats — if I don't like plutocracy, nothing is stopping me from doing it differently 😏 FWIW, still stoked about @purple and excited to be a community member

This is why Nouns introduced the Nouncil and started delegating votes to more builders. It takes time but that's how these nounish projects push for contributors to have a stronger voice and nos just whales.

I imagine that at some point there will be “fractional shares” for DAOs!

yes the daily auction is currently the only way to join. they’re using Zora’s new Nouns Builder that copies Nouns daily auctions + you build a sizable treasury quickly + you have highly interested (and hopefully motivated) members early on - it takes time - may take a long time for prices to be reasonable
