2 War should be the next frontier of progress, we must not accept the legitimacy of nation states to wage war nor the inevitability of nuclear deterrence

1 tribalism appears to be one of the survival instincts built in to us even in today's geopolitical landscape, humans are still fighting for ideologies and resources just like they were thousands of years ago

2. i don't think war as we know it is inevitable. The way we solve conflicts evolves with technology and culture. In a less barbarian world we could think of new conflict resolution processes that output better compromise

1, human history is filled with violent conflict from its beginning till now. We should try to limit and contain it but violence is inevitable.

3. No. It was artificially created and other ways of solving conflicts are possible. We used to have sex like monkeys, now we respect each other decisions and sex must to be consent. we evolved from wild animal sex to affective relationships.. (and sex, ofc, wild or not we need reproduction) We can and must do better.

3 yes, but its form changes based on environmental constraints (https://library.ucsd.edu/dc/object/bb25268460/_1.pdf) 20th century is among manufacturing superpowers, so it's focused on conquest of commodities. 21st century is among online superpowers, so it's focused on conquest of attention. eventually it'll be bits.

1. It may not be war, but it does feel like there’s an ingrained, cyclical need that humans have to punish or scapegoat - even as life gets better for everyone.

1 War in every capacity. War between nations. War within nations. War within tribes, families, nature, self. But I guess is depends on how you define war.

3. I don’t know. When I studied linguistics, violence kept being one of the major themes that kept coming up. I still have notes in the margins to the effect of β€œwhy????” for it.
