2 - Though I will be wanting to see real scientific research. Replicable studies to verify openAI claims.

3 I think long-term history is the biggest hurdle with AI right now. I think if there was an AI doctor that required yearly physicals and all of your medical records, it would perform a lot better than a few back and forth chat conversations.

1. I actually don’t even have a PCP currently (😯). Wouldn’t replace specialists with it…yet.

3 Definitely not *more* than a doctor, but probably wouldn’t mind some AI “screening” that happens and is sent to a doctor

3 Pre-Reqs: Regulatory controls in place that clearly set conditions of capabilities, where fault lies if malpractice, and access to data (esp HealthTech) Laws protecting users data from use by any entity. User data must be sovereign to the individual. Otherwise HealthTech turns to AdTech or ExploitationTech.

5. Completely? No. But I’d trust it right now if my primary HCP used AI across the board and in everything. Biggest hurdles for them - data access, retention, lack of adequate funding, lack of sane procurement process, regulatory overburden, egos (smallest problem of all, but still worth mentioning).

4 They have strong bias. There are cases in USA where you are not prescribed some medicine because it was prescribed for your pet. As everything is linked to your account their AI (this was a real issue covered by Wired) refuses to prescribe it for you making things more difficult.

I missed the poll but as someone that works in healthcare I can say there’s a very good chance you’re already better off with AI simply bc it can search the web quickly for you PCPs are significantly less capable than you realize AI wouldn’t have a bias against preventative healthcare
