remember ai agents? web2 keeps shipping mind blowing innovations - google, openai, microsoft, every week something insane releases. meanwhile in web3, we gave up on agents because a couple grifters launched vaporware tokens and rugged. tragic.

Connecting a Twitter account to a ChatGPT API with wallet hooks was fun for about a month, but it's not that interesting beyond the entertainment value.

Human nature since the world is world! That doesn't excuse everything. After, it doesn't matter how much power you have as an individual or lvl of tech webX used. We mustn't generalize all 😉

There are several teams using the Nillion privacy layer to build agents that can leverage private/sensitive/confidential data to automate the tedious aspects of both your web2 and web3 life. The problem with the first wave of “crypto AI agents” is that they were just memecoins that replied to tweets, which was an interesting novelty in its time but fairly useless in the long run.

Have you met @bracky? He’s been over the feed on farcaster, running sports trading markets for March madness; now for the Masters; many more sports coming. Wired to work on Twitter in same way Bankr does

In web2 you can market to the ignorant masses who don't care if the product they're consuming (copilot / apple intelligence / whatever) is literal malware stealing their data - because they don't do anything valuable with their computer anyway. Stark contrast - Crypto is about humans having agency to choose NOT to be the product. Strongly believe that this is why centralized / vc crypto is failing. It has no magic. You've abstracted away the magic, and custodied the users funds with multisig upgradability. It's not normie enough for the normies, and it's not crypto enough for anyone who cares. Nobody wants it.

We didn't give up here. Still shipping, still making AI agents useful. We keep building in conjunction with Web2. That's the real way.
