It’s honestly insane how much we interact with contracts without even looking at them, just trusting they won’t drain us. Feel like that’s a way bigger problem keeping normal people away from blockchain than most other consumer barriers. Am I wrong? How good are wallets and other tools at protecting uses?

As I understand, draining multiple tokens isn't possible with one smart contract transaction but rather a risk at the private key / seed phrase level. At worst you can get drained per ERC20 / ERC721 contract any time you unknowingly setApprovalForAll or whatever that function is. Maybe I'm wrong?

I think a few wallets try to warn you before you interact with certain contracts or websites??? but I am not sure you can ever achieve 100% security

Wallets provide TX simulation and security by knowing dangerous contracts patterns. /metamask does that.

as a new big wallet draining case is unfolding on twitter since last night (ETH nfts, BTC etc all gone from a hardware wallet), thinking a lot about this today. the whole opsec is ridiculously overwhelming imo, both on the UX side as well as on the psychological side. Just went to revoke cash to see my approvals. sorry, i'm rambling at this point. it's just 😵‍💫 😖
