The lack of critical thought and reasonable concern about some of his moves over the past 2 weeks truly is astonishing. The slope is mighty slippery right now, if not already a full on mud slide. I know the posture is “take Trump seriously, not literally” but rhetoric of this kind across so many fronts: not good.

They made a bunch of deals with big tech. They won’t break apart Facebook/IG/WhatsApp if Zuck bends the knee, Sundar was at the inauguration so he definitely kissed the ring too, Bezos owns the Post and AWS, and Elon controls the media. They can scrub just about anything, and track absolutely everything. Even TikTok now censors most Trump criticism unless you use a VPN.

It's not only what people say, but what they don't: 1. Too many crazy ideas, so people who are against might simply get tired, while some ideas will get through 2. Mainstream aligns with the power which completely won the election, so it's beneficial, it might be even psychological, what they comment is what they believe in 3. People actually want apartheid and get rid off Palestinian people - now simply got a green flag 4. Some are afraid to say anything against due to jobs/partnerships/investments, I don't here much about this neither on Farcaster 🙂

It’s clear that there’s a bias. We saw the inauguration picture. Billionaires are going to cowtow to him for a minute, while expanding their reach. I do hope eventually people as a whole start seeing clearly. I just have to have faith that we can all hang on that long.

This place (FC) makes me sick to my stomach lately. The support of trump and anti socialist sentiments are disgusting. I'm realizing people I once respected would shrug at half the world thrown into ovens if it meant their portfolio went up. Understandably I've been taking a break from my usual constant presence here.
