Insane that I can DM someone to their ENS address, fully encrypted, across multiple apps, with no lag between them and see all the text and reactions etc. This is the future Featuring @xmtp @shanemac.eth @converseapp and @family

farcaster utilizing this would be massive, communication across all ENS enabled products would be game changing for clients etc.

my understanding is that the E2EE implementation in XMTP is missing forward secrecy (cc @cassie) don’t have context on why they opted for that, but my instinct is that Double Ratchet solved this problem 10 years ago I think Farcaster can do better

Forward secrecy is a feature of XMTP groups and coming to 1:1 very soon. We chose the IETF's newer MLS standard over double ratchet, which is less scalable. https://www.ietf.org/blog/mls-secure-and-usable-end-to-end-encryption/
