Altcoin Season Chances Drop, But 3 Indicators Point to Potential Revival
Alts Gets Pushed Down Again
Altcoin season refers to a period when altcoins outperform Bitcoin in terms of market cap growth. The Altcoin Season Index measures this trend, determining whether 75% of the top 50 cryptocurrencies are outperforming Bitcoin.
Typically, an index value above 75 signals the onset of altcoin season, while a value at 25 reflects Bitcoin dominance. However, as of now, the index has dropped to 49, highlighting a setback for altcoins as Bitcoin regains a stronger foothold in the market.
But despite the drawdown, it does not appear that the alt season is over. One indicator suggesting this is Bitcoin dominance.
An increase in Bitcoin dominance often signifies a growing preference for Bitcoin over altcoins, particularly during periods of market uncertainty.
This trend suggests that investors see Bitcoin as a safer option, given its relative stability and established market position. 0 reply

Half a year on from my final and most hated blog post, have things changed?
Unfortunately not, crypto remains among the most morally bankrupt industries, and far and away the worst I've personally participated in. Most people in this industry are perpetually in denial, with negligible effort to change things for a better culture.
Yes, vile degeneracy has been temporarily muted relative to March 2024, but this is only because the shitcoins are down 99% since then. I see no evidence that any lesson has been learned, and the same pandemonium is very likely to repeat.
Obviously, I still highly respect the 0.1% of this industry that's actually net positive for humanity, and needless to say, all of this is just my personal opinion. I still hope, one day, at least some of the remaining 99.9% of the industry will share those values. 10 replies

I’m chan from angpao.money.
ETHGlobal Singapore is amazing. It’s amazing because of 3 things:
1. I built something with my favorite humans, where they are best at what they do. Building with them non-stop for 3 days is the best thing to do ever.
2. We built something working and cool, solving real problems.
3. Meeting bunch of awesome people who expanded my horizons, taught me stuff that I will never able to discover on my own.
ETHGlobal makes me feel like I finally found my tribe, people here speaks the language, build amazing stuff, and friendly as ever.
I met @greg and @ted, which is a little embarrassing that I did not recognize them on the very beginning. Greg is super dedicated in helping my case, and I can feel his urge to make things work when it didn’t, that really moved me as that’s REAL developer instinct. Ted is super friendly, her energy is really contagious and supportive. You guys rocks and it really is my honor to get to know you guys! 1 reply
