I remember steemit! But more interested in the mechanic of having an allowance vs earning tokens for participating. It's a subtle difference. Both reward work, but the former starts by "increasing" your capital before you participate. Use it or lose it. vs doing it after work was done.

Circles, I think the idea was similar. Use it / UBI. Although not familiar with $DEGEN

The one comparison I’ve made is the practice of giving out a “morale bonus” at a job where you have eg $50 once every 3 months that you can only spend on a co-worker.

The first to do it on a social media platform as responses fully composable I think? Good question, I’m not sure
