If you tried requesting an invite in the past and didn't get one, please try again in this thread. We rely on Warpcast's reply notifications, and sometimes replies don't get surfaced. Seems to get worse with a stale thread, so I made a fresh one. The bar for an invite is not high, anyone who writes a polite coherent reply gets an invite. :) Think of it as an opportunity to show how interesting and diverse our growing community is. If we missed you, please ping one of the mods.

ethereum allows people to become more empowered to operate outside of the institutions that continually exploit us and let us down, and to build trustless alternatives even if blockchain-based systems never became the norm, institutions will have to compete with decentralized alternatives for their survival, creating positive benefits for everyone i believe that ethereum’s focus should be on creating positive change through innovating, and through shifting the overton window around what’s possible and what’s acceptable for the human race

Ethereum is the way technological civilization integrates ("aligns") the future AIs without risking catastrophe, instead leading to the brightest imaginable outcomes. Closed source AI, ran on corporate hardware would lead to absurdly cruel tyranny and world wars. Open source AI, living onchain, is the golden path.

The answer is 42 obviously, but another purpose of Ethereum allowing everyone to have confidence in a complex, digitised, globalised world. Rather than locking in and exploiting users, its apps put the individual first. It keeps all those background processes in check you shouldn’t need to worry about.

I love ethereum. It’s the reason I discovered crypto, but more importantly it’s the reason I stayed. Ethereum represents everything I believe the original ethos of crypto stands for: decentralization enabling censorship resistance, allowing anyone to do anything. It should all be built on Ethereum - the most decentralized world computer that's secured by ETH - the most decentralized programmable commodity money in existence. This is my take on eth vision and community and what is eth to me personally

Ethereum has to be private, uncensorable and verifiable financial layer. Personally, it is a project responsible for rapid progress in cryptography in the last decade and that’s already quite an achievement

I believe that Ethereum’s vision should be to provide the minimum necessary substrate to enable the true wishes of its community. It needs to have the “minimum escape velocity” to allow this coordination to occur. Ethereum to me is a community that is unified in their optimistic vision that humanity wants to coordinate and prosper. Can I be a member :3 @shazow.eth

gmeow, would love an invite. So I've been in crypto on the dev side since 2013, when I originally was the first core dev on Dogecoin (Billy and Jackson reached out to the r/dogecoin mods incl. me to fix some bugs/exploits found, as they weren't coders themselves) The biggest problem I had with the industry then was how easy it was to get rugged and rekt. Exchanges literally vanishing overnight, every service (like satoshi dice & knock-offs) were centralized. Lost everything to rugs and "hacks". I returned in the 16/17 bull purely because of Ethereum, and the smart contract layer. It was the actual fix to centralization. My keys, my coins, always. And that's what Ethereum is to me, beyond serving the general purposes of gamblooors and memes - it's an actual fix for centralization. Trustless compute. Used to be way more aligned with "It should have big GPUs and just be a per-second cloud computer", now I more see that as an L2 job. Ethereum is the decentralized secure layer to build the ecosystem on.

Hey fam, we've been developing Warden Protocol for a year now. We believe in the power of Ethereum as the foundational Layer 1 for security and decentralization. That’s why we became EVM-compatible in November—and since January, we’ve been helping deploy on-chain agents on Ethereum and other EVM chains (supporting also the Agentic Ethereum Hackathon). Would it be possible to get an invitation?

Ethereum's purpose is to be the bedrock for interactions between people, companies, protocols, and institutions in a world that is turning once again to extremes, polarization, and isolationism. Ethereum is about a free and interconnected world of sovereign individuals who want to cooperate for the future.
