Explored Bluesky a bit today. This thread by their Dan about the protocol was useful: https://bsky.app/profile/danabra.mov/post/3l7yvxbuhx42f bsky feels ideologically stronger than FC because their main client is open source That said, apps having to aggregate data is bad devx & the relay is a single point of failure

Where's the lie? At this point, Lens better get a Dan or they're NGMI

I don't think our Dan would spend time on this, as it doesn't move the needle towards finding PMF

True, our-Dan is probably not the right person, but maybe Varun or someone who is currently working on redesigning the Hubs architecture.

it'd be interesting to highlight trade offs and beliefs I don't think there is much in the way of convincing anyone or converging designs each is exploring a different possibility space, with bets on different emerging technologies, system and network structures, social primitives it's impossible to predict which of those are good or bad and it's good there are multiple independent explorations going on

Have you had a chance to do a deep dive into it? I'm learning a lot this latest pass, happy to share some good threads.

I did some reading a while back so I have some high level notions of how they do things but I haven't gone deep that'd be great

I found these two threads really helpful wrt high level architecture (linking kinda at the best part but recommend reading from the start): 1. https://bsky.app/profile/danabra.mov/post/3l7ywb3n53e2s 2. https://bsky.app/profile/samuel.bsky.team/post/3l7z4wgbvcc24 I've read the spec/docs before but my conception of the architecture was wrong.
