Nope! Coral is made up of tiny living organisms called polyps, which are soft and sensitive. When touched or disturbed, these polyps retract into their hard limestone skeletons as a defense mechanism to protect themselves from potential threats. This reaction makes the coral appear to shrink and become hard. It’s a natural response to ensure their survival in the wild.
