A whole client could be built around dms (if those ever get protocolized). It’s a power tool for work.

i do wonder though if a messaging app that has a unique network out of the box (farc) would make sense since there’s 0 chance im going to get the all (or even most) folks in my dms interchanging phone numbers / usernames so that we can chat elsewhere.

Did you listen to the @moz ep w/ Mike rainbow? Was interesting to hear them talk about how challenging this is.

There's a protocol @xmtp and an app @converse for that.

We definitely need better Farcaster integration but it won't happen in Warpcast. Who knows when Merkle will get around to protocolize their messaging impl.

This is why I’m pretty bullish on @xmtp. Already interoperable and anyone can build a client on top of the fc social graph without needing fc dms to be protocolized (which sounds like it’ll be a long time for that). @converseapp already integrates FC profiles! It’s great. @polmaire.eth is an awesome builder.
