So many gems in this book. The warnings about passive entertainment, how empty spiritual calories can kill you slowly.

It was my first exposure to David Foster Wallace, now I’m intrigued to explore more of his writings (not sure if I’m ready for Infinite Jest though 😅

I really enjoy his thought process.

Personally I loved his essay collections and short stories. I didn’t try his earlier fiction after he kind of dunked on it in interviews. The Pale King could have been a masterpiece.

Kind of sense I’ll feel the same way tbh, this was such a good one.

It was mine too! I read a few books of his afterwards (including 50% of infinite jest). He was a good writer! But I don't think I enjoyed any of them at much as that book.
