Now that I remember, I’m kinda salty that I never met a girl off MySpace but I did live journal and tumblr where I didn’t go hard in the html and css whatsoever 😩

I learned it by styling my MySpace so girls would think I was cool 🤓

Very easy to forget if you didn’t stick to it. I’d even argue it was easier learning as a kid because one just had so much time and patience to learn anything!

Crazy bc I didn’t see this until after I posted my neopets post in /nostalgia. 

I also learned html via neopets and I remember very little of it as an adult.

It changed the entire course of my life for the better. It was a happy accident of circumstance.

I was only 10 so my perspective was limited back then. But growing through the MySpace age which also allowed for HTML/CSS really felt like the dying breath of a fun and personal social networks.

Now it’s distilled to social *media* which is expression through content, all of which gets decontexualized in a feed.

haha yep paired with live journal and myspace which lead me to flash animation in the early 2000's too. Actionscript sucked though I don't mind that it's obsolete now 😆
