WC conspiracy theory: Recasts (not quote casts) don't work. They never show up in my feeds from people I follow and RCs from very large accounts doesn't seem to impact the engagement on a cast whatsoever.

That makes sense! Quite powerful actually, and seems like a subtler version of the old Boost mechanic that evolved into Pins

As a host, recasting will directly move something from recent to trending, I've noticed.

Not sure but since forever I noticed my recasts did absolutely nothing for extending reach of smaller accounts.

did something change recently? i'm scrolling my feed now and seeing zero recasts but i remember seeing at least a few just a couple days ago

I feel like threading doesn't work here either. Self replies aren't useful in that sense, but self quotes tend to get more traction
