As an identical twin growing up with a single mom in a small, economically depressed town, I thought our mom only made one birthday cake each year because we shared the same face, so logically we had to share the same birthday and wishes too For years, I believed that if we made different wishes, they would cancel each other out and we'd end up with nothing The confusing thing was that I knew you couldn't tell anyone your wishes or they wouldn't come true, and it really blew my mind that @scizors.eth and I must have always wished for the same thing because we always got something, no matter how little money there was I don't think I even told scizzypoo about this before Thanks for the great memory, not something I've thought about in years

when we were kids only our mom could tell us apart but we've gone different directions in our adult life. so maybe if we had the same haircut and beard and long sleeve shirts you couldn't tell us apart, but with like our normal styles of clothes and visible tattoos it'd be a little more obvious

Even still, there are things that are a bit different, like my nose broken a few too many times and crooked in a different direction, but youd have to be looking that close if we tried to look alike

My nose has never looked the same since I was snowboarding in Austria in my 20s. I faceplanted in ice and it was so cold that I didn't realize I had hurt it, let alone broken it seriously. I didn't notice that I was covered in blood because I was having so much fun, until my friends saw me and freaked out. So, I went into the bathroom, straightened it out as well as I could, and put a tampon in each nostril and called it a day. Apparently, taking your pointer and middle finger and putting them on either side of your nose and pulling away from yourself isn't anything near straight because your arm pulls to one side. Who knew? By the time the swelling went away and I realized how not straight it was, it was too late to fix without having it broken again, and I wasn't about to go through that, so I've just dealt with it. To this day, the way it's bent leaves a blood vessel in one nostril closer to the surface than it should be, and so I get easy nosebleeds. Anyways, that's a bit of a tangential explanation.

which is funny cause i had the identical experience in our teens the first time i went snowboarding, nose started gushing blood in the car as the heater warmed up and someone noticed it was crooked
