accept as a premise that games are less fulfilling if you beat them using a cheat code. stronger claim: they aren’t worth playing at all if you use a cheat code. now, if life is a game and if AGI is a cheat code, then life’s not worth playing with AGI. if this is wrong, which premise is wrong and why?

The idea that AGI is a cheat code is the wrong premise. Building tools, making fire, harnessing energy. Humans finding ways to make their lives easier and more efficient is part of life, not outside of it.

Artificial heating, houses, indoor plumbing, cars, clothes, writing etc etc are all cheat codes to life but they don’t make life not worth playing.

A cheat code can only be introduced from outside. As long as we fall within laws of physics we are not cheating.

I don’t buy that agi is a cheat code any more than using google maps ruins your trip. It’s just a level up maybe. New challenges of being human will present. There are no perfect answers and always incomplete info. See Prisoner’s Dilemma.

You can critique the premise that life is not a game, but you can’t deny that aspects of life are game-like (eg accumulating money or time; building relationships w loved ones) I think the biggest flaw is that AGI is not a cheat code, or that there is a difference between infinite games and finite ones

the first premise is mostly true, until it's a console command for fixing/modding/exploring the game. which is the same with AGI, we'll gain cheaper creative divergence, and meanwhile what's already explored will become abundant & less "of a grind".
