Pachinko is a really good show Not sure why I haven’t seen more recommendations for it Just watched s1e7 last night and it captures the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake in a harrowing but beautiful way Highly recommend watching

Great point Ironically, now is the best time to remember how hard things can get and gain the motivation to prevent current times from deteriorating

It seems like the “Roots” etc of this generation is going to be from war/history episodes of podcasts (Jocko, Lex) instead of TV/film. I don’t know why podcasts seem to do better here. Maybe we’re too desensitized to disturbing visuals now.
