Just watched s1e7 last night and it captures the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake in a harrowing but beautiful way 

Highly recommend watching

It seems like the “Roots” etc of this generation is going to be from war/history episodes of podcasts (Jocko, Lex) instead of TV/film.

I don’t know why podcasts seem to do better here. Maybe we’re too desensitized to disturbing visuals now.
