The SEC is now suing Kraken, Coinbase, Uniswap, Metamask and now Robinhood for the crime of helping regular Americans access crypto. This level of regulatory overreach has destroyed the legitimacy of the SEC and may lose the democrats the election. Voters don't want this.

Skeptical how much voters actually know about this / care to the point where it would have a significant impact on the elections

There are probably a dozen legitimate things they could have sued Robinhood over, but chose this instead.

is there a new suit, or this is the one that the judge says could move forward a week or so ago?

for voters that "don't want this" you can incorporate in the EU and do ICOs or whatever else your heart desires. Corporate tax rates are the same or lower.

So true. Glad I'm not American, but one has to think how this abuse of process must look to the legitimate American taxpayer... Especially the 25% of which now hold some form of cryptocurrency.

They were too slow to issue clear regulation for the booming industry and now they play a catch-up. It’s typical regulation through enforcement, but imo the industry in the US will not be hampered by this. Other jurisdictions are more supportive, but lack other incentives that drive innovation. US will still lead.
