Well that trend reversed, didn't it? 😅 SOL issuance to delegators more than doubled MEV tips last week. In terms of rewards, rewards via issuance are dominant again on Solana (69% of all rewards last week). @solana

A week since Timely Vote Credits went live on Solana. Good to see major geographies below or near the 2 slot latency threshold for full vote rewards. Would be great to see this be consistent over time.

It's early but decentralized builder, BuilderNet, is already delivering the second highest block value for Ethereum validators (priority fees + MEV shared). Basically delivering a relatively high amount of validator rewards at the execution layer. Worth watching how this evolves. Another interesting metric to track would be vote latency over the next few days. It’s the distance between the slot being voted for and the slot where the vote transaction itself lands. Here it is across different validator cohorts based on the amount of their stake. Anything at or below 2 slots worth would give the validator the full voting rewards.

The Timely Vote Credits (TVC) upgrade on Solana allows the protocol to be aware of the timeliness of a validator’s slot votes and actively incentivize it. It is also very relevant for delegators as well. While block rewards and MEV tips are consistently hitting all time highs, voting rewards from SOL issuance still form a significant chunk of validator and delegator rewards. (1st graph) Not only that, these are in-protocol meaning validators are obligated to share these with their delegators based on the former's commission rates. (2nd graph) Delegators get around 70% of issuance, which at current prices can be USD 90M per week.

Posting this again - I think it's important that we retain "solo staker" as the definition of a node operator who validates without anything between them and the Beacon Chain contract. It is the most "solo" way of staking In contrast, "independent operators" can look like a lot of different things (DVT stakers, Lido CSM validators, Rocket Pool minipool operators, solo stakers using data centers). This is a big pool of tapped and untapped node operators and they're essential for decentralization "Independent operators" isn't as catchy but I think it's good to have strict definitions to work from, otherwise we end up getting lost in 'decentralization word salads' where everybody means something different

Guess it's not "0199" anymore haha. Discussion around SOL inflation is in early stages. Proposed SIMD is being discussed here: https://github.com/solana-foundation/solana-improvement-documents/discussions/200 More info on SIMD-0096 which already passed: https://github.com/solana-foundation/solana-improvement-documents/pull/096 And SIMD-0123 here: https://github.com/solana-foundation/solana-improvement-documents/pull/0123

Why is this important? With Solana improvement proposals taking steps towards distributing these rewards IN-protocol (SIMD-0096 and 0123), and changing the level of SOL inflation (SIMD-0199), these datapoints are important to consider, especially in various market conditions.

For the first time last week, MEV tips on Solana are virtually equal to the SOL issuance received by delegators. Don’t be surprised if it goes above this week. Under current market conditions, MEV tips and block rewards (REV) are trending towards going above issuance as a whole. @solana

Learned a lot about crypto data at DAS from Dune, Amberdata, Kaiko, Allium, CryptoCompare, and Sonarverse. A fully transparent financial system is possible – polar opposite of the tradfi data walled garden. Expect @blockworksres to expand deeper into data/analytics this year.

Quite a mix of profiles amongst the top operators in terms of restaking market share (30d data). - Some have validator sets (nearly) fully dedicated to restaking - Most have 97% effectiveness for their restaked fleet - Average APRs but there are some above the network average explorer.rated.network/restaking

Just launched a native restaking page for Rated: explorer.rated.network/restaking ♻️ ✨ Besides a dedicated operator page on Native Restaking participation, we've enabled counters on restaking penetration on the network as a whole. Learn more here: https://t.co/w4hFUkSEdj

. o O ↑ blobs are here today 4844 started v conservative (targets 3 blob/block) but can be increased! 👀 next steps: 1. give ~1 month for usage/fees equilibrium, + better understand resource externalities to node op. 2. explore the data, win $ prizes! https://esp.ethereum.foundation/data-challenge-4844
