Users treat exuberant fees as a defacto liveness failure. To those users Ethereum was down for all of 2021. Ethereum fees were so bad that 99.5% reliability but guaranteed low cost was better, and thats how solana managed to get pmf.

P = NP is in fact an easy problem. It has several solutions: * P = 0 * N = 1 * N = integer > 1, P = "turn right 360/(N-1) degrees" * N = integer > 1, P = any idempotent (eg. "erase everything at a particular location") Most people who think they understand the truth about P = NP have only grasped the first two.

Introducing Trending Topics Algorithmic collections of casts about topics people are talking about. They update a few times per day. Mobile only to start. Update to the latest version of Warpcast from the your app store and restart your app 1-2x. Topics will appear on the search tab and in your feed while you're scrolling. We’re running this as an experiment in Warpcast for the next couple months. --- > Are these channels? Trending topics **are not** channels. They are collections casts about a popular topic identified by an AI-powered algorithm. Channels have no bearing on trending topics. > Are the topics on the protocol? The casts themselves are on the protocol but the categorization and feeds are generated by Warpcast. There are developer tools like @mbd that can provide this for your app.

I want a simple open source JS text widget that automatically detects and rejects AI input. - It constantly keeps up to date with the latest models - As the user types, it displays the probability that the input is AI - If the user pastes in text, the AI probability increases - It flat-out rejects input if AI probability is >50%, by graying out submit - It doesn't show anything unless the AI probability is high Basically, a good slice of people now paste in AI slop because they're lazy, can't write, or don't realize how detectable it is. I don't want to manually detect it with my eyes, I want AI to do that and reject it prior to submission. Put the widget up at noaijs.com or a similar domain. Allow developers to subscribe for a hosted version, or even perhaps buy a memecoin (ha!) to support.

I'm still trying to figure out the culture of Farcaster. It seems very laid back here. Shorter posts (despite a longer character limit!), more chill. People just posting about their day. Few seem to be worried about "making every post good". For this reason, casts get a lot more replies than other platforms. It feels more conversational. Also, the vibes are strongly wholesome and positive. Almost suspiciously so. How have I not seen someone seriously disagree with someone else yet!? It reminds me a bit of Something Awful's BYOB forum circa late 2000s. On the downside (for me), there seems to be a lack of serious intellectual rigor. Take the image below: not much new is being forged here, philosophically.

While there I drove our transformation from a four asset company (BTC, ETH, BCH, LTC) to the infinite asset backend Coinbase has now. I also championed and led the USDC launch at Coinbase, taking it from $0 to $1. And worked closely with @dwr.eth, who has been a friend for 10+ years. I think Farcaster is exceptionally underrated as a protocol and want to use it as the backbone for a new kind of crypto-first school.
