Excellent post. CT seems have swung hard against this thesis lately, and I get it - it’s a simple, digestible narrative to argue against “fragmentation”.

This “feature not a bug” reframing is a much higher level of clarity of where we’re aiming.

Depends on what the application is. If it's stuff like payments, store-of-value, then yes - quite possible. But there are also potential (key, potential) hybrid applications which are going to require hundreds or even thousands of mega validium-like chains to scale (mirroring sharded/meshed/etc servers in "web2" apps)

I agree on a longer term horizon but I do think that monolithic ecos are currently (likely for only a short window as you mention) in a better position to try and leverage their abundant blockspace towards useful applications... feels like a pipe dream sometimes that we get there though

I have not been following the L1 world, so it's mostly Tezos, though of course you have interesting projects like Mina or Aleo. It's a tall order getting into the market at this late stage though - even something 5 years old like Tezos has failed to gain any real traction. The only way seems to be shilling narratives

Amen. Personally I’m excited about getting them in nonprofit offices and community centers. Grassroots Economics is doing great work on this front in Kenya.

The cost of running a node is higest in bitcoin. But Bitcoin right now is the most decentralised, more then even ethereum. According to your article, are you suggesting that bitcoin is not a good blockchain because of its node cost?
