The main thing that I find myself looking for is the way to become a member. From my experience there are lots of different ways (gated, not possible, free to enter etc.) but it's actually not clear if and how I can join. Some channels have it as a link, some others as a pinned cast but there is no clear and standardized path.

yep, would love a way to be able to submit a pending cast owner can decide if they want to open it to everyone or just to ppl they follow feels easier for the owner to see a pending than to need to go to the person’s channel and see what they cast about to make decision if good fit

This, for sure. I just stated elsewhere in the thread how I miss not having some Guild-like UX that makes clear the requirements, roles, and rewards for each channel.

I'd like to add a bigger-picture perspective here: It would be good if channels had an obvious place where they could add some info about how the channel runs. Norms, how to join, who the mods are, relevant background info, etc. On reddit we find this in the right side bar of each sub-reddit.
