"Bringing people onchain" is the exact wrong way to approach problem-solving. It's more cult-like than anything else.

It's also lazy. It's basically saying, "I want everyone to conform to the way I think things should be done." Instead, you should be thinking about how you can meet people where they are.

Absolutely true! It sounds super condescending. It’s hilarious when I see comments like “we’re bringing 1 billion people onchain by the end of 2024” 😭 like bruh, these people are already online. The only way they’re joining us “onchain” is if we build useful, easy-to-use products that can actually compete with what’s out there. This isn’t some pitch to convert people to a new religion lol

I don't think it's a way to approach problem solving. It's merely stating a goal, an objective, not laying out a path or method for this objective. If you work or believe in Blockchain technology, increasing the amount of people using blockchain should be an end goal, don't you think? Otherwise, why are you even building in that space?

couldnt agree more. also makes "onchain" as the end goal, as opposed to a means of solving a problem or improving ppls lives somehow

it's true that's not how it should be marketed to end users, and I think it isn't? that's how it's marketed to crypto insiders and people who are already here, non crypto users usually see something like "future of money"?
