I was all in on Railway, but I've had way too many frustrations with it. Things that SHOULD just work often don't and debugging is hard since you don't have access to the shell console for the server (which originally I thought was a great thing). I've moved as much of my backend code to Cloudflare workers and if I need long-running processes, I'm back on Digital Ocean.

I like the idea of railway but they had some pretty bad downtime last year and I had to do an emergency migration to another provider at 4am one time Needless to say I’m no longer all in on them either

I keep going back to Digital Ocean...all of my longest-running apps are on Digital Ocean. People are scared of DevOps but learn a little and you have more resilient systems.

living on Railway rn, but probably will move back to Cloudflare everything once their container platform is live
