The fight for the mini app dev market share is on Reddit, TG, Wechat, Warpcast (and other Farcaster clients) LinkedIn also experiments with LinkedIn Games. Facebook had them back in the day

If there is competition for mini apps from established players, what is Farcaster’s unique selling point for devs to build here? Bonus points if you don’t use the words “crypto”, “onchain”, or “permissionless”

there's no walled garden on protocol data. That's what makes farcaster attractive since you don't have to deal with getting shut out of third party APIs like Reddit, TG can easily shut you off or take away data that you thought you had so the reason to build here is sleeping at night that you're app isn't API rugged tomorrow (note Farcaster, not warpcast, Warpcast API's are different)

the factors for attracting devs that outweigh all others are users and distribution other platforms have a massive advantage in terms of # of users Farcaster’s unique selling point is ability to get initial traction by launching to a concentrated user base of early adopters that are easy to reach and a potential asymmetric of the network scaling significantly in the next few years

only just started exploring the Farcaster universe, but as Builder, what I'm attracted to most is this OPEN protocol that's supported by multiple clients.. any App Creator who's ever been "cancelled" by the established platforms (i.e. Facebook, Google, Apple, etc) has a 2nd opportunity via Frames to provide something UNIQUE!

It is definitely the place where you have greatest control over your app distribution. You aren’t beholden to an app-store gatekeeper.
