Reddit, TG, Wechat, Warpcast (and other Farcaster clients)

LinkedIn also experiments with LinkedIn Games. Facebook had them back in the day

If there is competition for mini apps from established players, what is Farcaster’s unique selling point for devs to build here? Bonus points if you don’t use the words “crypto”, “onchain”, or “permissionless”

there's no walled garden on protocol data. That's what makes farcaster attractive since you don't have to deal with getting shut out of third party APIs like Reddit, TG can easily shut you off or take away data that you thought you had

so the reason to build here is sleeping at night that you're app isn't API rugged tomorrow

(note Farcaster, not warpcast, Warpcast API's are different)

Saw a few casts grumbling about the next iteration of frames

Clearing up misconceptions:

1. We circulated earlier versions of the public draft with a dozen or teams who are actively building frames.

2. Existing frames will continue to work as is. If people continue to build them and they have meaningful usage, we will support them.

3. Our goal with the changes is to give developers *more* surface area to build better experiences and *more* reliability for one shot actions like transactions (still clunky today).

4. Frames are just links. So other clients can choose to adopt or not and they will start work.

5. Frames are Farcaster primitives not just Warpcast because they contain social context, e.g. a user’s FID

I’ve been casually watching the app frames and frames conversation, but isn’t the big vocal concern that frames as we know them may no longer be supported? If so, how does that align with not getting rugged?
