For years I wanted to find a better word for “work” - for the things we must do. The things we care about. For money or not for money. I gave up. So I called this book “Good Work” trying to playfully reclaim it for people in a fun way. Good work may not come with a paycheck. But you need to do it anyway

In Sanskrit there is a word called "Kaama", it means "the tasks that you want to do". Sometimes the word can be used for indulgence, too!

Have you read Alain de Botton’s The Pleasures and Sorrows of Work? Or David Graeber’s Bullshit Jobs? Curious whether those takes have any bearing on yours.

The playful reclaim is nice. The other words I’m imagining are so serious! Labor? Duties? Efforts? Ew.
