im surprised how much ppl stan vscode when jetbrains seems far better to me WebStorm (their JS-focused offering) has much deeper code understanding. i know exactly where every function is called, can refactor with minimal effort, jump from definition to uses and back worth paying for imho

Currently, as a new dev, my needs are quite simple but here are tools that make it all worth it for me. editor: Zed. I've been using zed for about a year now, so muscle memory. terminal: Warp helped me eliminate my fear of the terminal. sdk: airstack, getting rewarded for using an sdk is a no brainer.

Dokku (a mini-Heroku powered by Docker. The smallest PaaS implementation you've ever seen) has been helping me quickly and easily deploy applications to my VPS for probably 8 years now. Thank you Dokku :)

1/ Warp Terminal delights my synapses more than any rational description can explain -- speed, unexpected (?) accurate predictions, chef's kiss UX touches. 2/ I have to say Dynamic is up there for similar reasons. 3/ @warpcastadmin.eth's starters are so lean and well thought out, just like his dev blog posts

Paste is a great clipboard app! Really good when you have to copy/paste text and to look for recent snippets of text. Also, I use it a lot to save a recent "version" of whatever without worrying I will overwrite it by copying something newer.

I've been focusing on dev front-ends, and my starter pack is: React.js: I can't go back from using it anymore, especially for quickly building crypto apps. v0 + shadcn: These've become my super hack for quick component design. Now, I can prototype with the speed of an entire team. Notion: For kanban, docs, and notes.

These tools/libs are like my trusty sidekicks: - Git Co-pilot: My coding buddy. I find the auto completion really helpful when writing too many blocks. - Prettier: My code stylist. Does some smooth code formatting. -chakra UI: My frontend project starter, just like a simplified Tailwind Css-makes development faster

1. Pulumi. If you're doing anything cloud related, writing and defining resources in your native PL is super nice. 2. NextJS 14 with server actions has been a pleasant surprise. Not needing api routes for smaller web-apps is super nice for prototyping. 3. Error Lens VSCode Plugin. Hovering over errors is terrible.

- JoyUI + JoyUI plugin for figma has been making my life on the frontend side so much simpler and easier - what can be designed aligns so much better with what can be built in a short timeframe. - Prettier: the code just looks good for everyone. Also nextjs + hosting on heroku feels much better than vercel.

When it comes to Solidity development, Foundry improved my dev productivity so much. - Test: it is so much nicer to be able to write tests in Solidity - Debugging: the tracing feature alone saved me a ton of time - Speed: simply faster than other toolings (faster iterations) and `cast`, better deployment exp, etc.

A lot of people seem to shun using AI for building—at least from what have have seen/read. But my developer skills have x1000 in the past year. I have learned so much and continue to learn everyday. There are so many nuances in development processes and find solutions with LLMs—is the best tool you can have.
