just rewatched Dune last night. i hated it in the theater and 95% sure this is the reason. last night with subtitles on + some pause-n-google i enjoyed it now i’m excited for Dune 2!

Arrakis is also called Dune because Frank Herbert couldn't find another way to cram in another proper noun so he just started naming things twice. Did the same with Paul/Muad'Dib. Really big loophole if you ask me.

big part of dune 2 that was not elaborated on in the movies is that the mom belongs to Bene Gesserit and their Missionaria Protectiva. u can not just skim over that part like that!
