We're a democracy, and yet many of the founders' greatest constitutional innovations *restrain* popular will. (Can you name some?) That's why the criticism "that's antidemocratic!"--without more--isn't a very compelling argument. Happy Constitution Day y'all.

Also really the entire bill of rights is antimajoritarian so antidemocratic in that simple sense
