We're a democracy, and yet many of the founders' greatest constitutional innovations *restrain* popular will. (Can you name some?) That's why the criticism "that's antidemocratic!"--without more--isn't a very compelling argument. Happy Constitution Day y'all.

Your use of the word we here is confusing. Are you referring to the Warpcast community? Or the government of the United States. Are you a part of that government? Last time that I checked, the founders of the US were anti-democracy, and designed a constitutional republic as the system of government.
