I’d say Web3 makes up only a small part of the elite overproduction because most aspiring elites take other avenues to try and achieve success. Maybe it’s a proportionally bigger outlet for people who have (hitherto) lucrative tech skills. 

Tangentially related, society in general has a problem with too many people trying to live off others’ labor without productive effort.
