I’ve been reading about trauma lately, speaking as a basically low/no-trauma person (afaik) and one of my conclusions is that the majority of the world is low-grade trauma-driven and it manifests as being in war mode by default, peace mode by exception. Guess I’m rather lucky in having the reverse orientation.

As a high trauma person that's healed a lot of it, yuuup. Been building a similar thesis. Proposed mechanism: host ideology/egregore explains all problems as caused by rival ideology/egregore. Toxic shame (mostly from childhood trauma) is temporarily alleviated. When certain words/situations are encountered...

...rival ideology/egregore is invoked. Often dramatically in full force, like the person is literally being attacked physically by a large mech. They 'defend' against this in attacking. But the mech is mostly their own trauma, 'stored' in the rival ideology/egrogore. And like soldiers with childhood trauma...

...fighting causes more trauma/PTSD. The rival ideology/egregore grows stronger, along with the 'friendly' one you identity with. Eventually the person is stuck emotionally in battle, faintly shaking all the time, 'charging' until they release energy in next attack
