Five reasons I think the relationship between Democrats and tech broke: 1. The Democrats are fighting tech more aggressively. 2. The “broken deal” between Democrats and tech. 3. Tech is richer than it used to be. 4. Tech is building in areas in which regulation is more of a direct impediment. 5. "I don't want to live in a world where someone else makes the world a better place... better than we do." https://www.notboring.co/p/why-the-democrats-lost-tech

Why don’t you think tech leaders speak more overtly about what they want the Democratic Party to be? Like the Thiels of the word say what they want Democracy to be but not like “hey this party and platform has changed over time and this is how we think it should best represent the people now”

I’d argue part of losing tech was their sense that they ahead had won it so there was nothing left to fight for. Until 3 years ago to be in tech was identical to starting a particular political viewpoint

Lots to think about. The “rich” vs “capitalist” distinction is particularly interesting. My main question, why doesn’t tech take a real stab at building a competitive 3rd party that truly understands their interests and goals? They have the money, they have the personality. It won’t be viable at a national level yet, but start local and build. It seems strange to push so hard for advancing society, economy, technology and then stop short at the government norms that aren’t working for them.

I dont think calling Elon Musk would help. For him, the issue with gender affirming care has become personal. The democrats would have to abandon parts of their own party to cater to him.

I don’t get why job creation is not the message from tech and crypto…..that should be the message.

6. As the tech market has matured and the winner take most dynamics have played out, those winners naturally attract (and produce?) power-seeking leaders with more authoritarian tendencies

The tires between tech and democrats is outrageous. Can’t get a job in tech if you ate libertarian or republican. Moving dangerously close to full out communism. This is laughable, the whole idea behind your article

There’s little difference between Repubs and Demonrats, both are for show in clown world. The Real people in charge are the ones u never see, the ones in charge of money. The “wizards” behind the curtain. Politicians are the curtain.

You should include in your title headline. “Heavily opinionated and biased” as you barely included actual facts or did you include any points about how the GOP is negative towards it theirselves and have been for years. How many bills did the GOP vote down that was geared for tech? Actually a few of your “talking points” are actual not facts and made up info. But each our own and we should always DYOR and fact check information we read. Just because you took the time to pull quotes and articles does not make it factual. You do know this right? You still have to take the time to cross reference and verify info is correct. But ultimately like most GOP leaning folks. Facts don’t come easy. It is what it is. That’s a fact 😂
