With the SEC is away, state AGs and class action attorneys will play. New lawsuits were filed against digital asset companies last week and a few other developments to track. lol, a central plot point of the new Amazon movie with Viola Davis is crypto but the writers clearly don’t understand it and I love that.

@rodeodotclub model: 24 hour open edition. Same price if you see in second 1 as in 86399. No bots. No front running. Creators paid plus royalties. Sharers also paid. @zora model: memecoins. Early (or bots) pay less. Later pays more. Creators’ actual supporters punished with higher prices. Easy to sell in mass/rug. Nobody will convince me “content coins” are anything other than a memecoin pig with lipstick; or that memecoins are a better model for tokenized content/paying creators vs. NFTs.

NFTs are still the best consumer onboarding tool. I'll die on that hill. It won't be 2021 era PFP NFT craze stuff and idk what chain they will be on. But digital collectables/passes are understandable in ways "content coins" or w/e you want to brand that shit will never be. People I know who onboarded from Bitcoin Whitepaper: Lots self-proclaimed, mostly liars. People I know who onboarded during ICO craze: Some (including me). People I know who onboarded during NFT craze: Largest group by far. People I know who onboarded during Memecoin craze: Literally zero. People I know who onboarded for stablecoins/ payments: Literally zero.

It was a busy week in crypto, with the SEC, DOJ, and Congress all making moves on digital asset initiatives before Congress went on a 2 week break. M&A activity is heating up too. I don't know if it was a slow week in legal developments or I was just busy studio Ghibli styling every picture I have. But there were some Stablecoin developments and Ripple is done litigating. I used to think gaming would be primary means on onboarding. Still think there will be people whose first self custody wallet is for gaming assets. But more and more, I think it’s DeFi lending. With integration of USDC debit cards, there’s no reason to let cash sit in a no-interest checking account.

It was a quiet week for lawsuits (nice), but the young guns in Senate Banking crossed party lines on stable coin legislation, and IRS Broker rule changes for crypto are all but dead.
