What are the reasons people prefer building on Base despite Blast having those native yield and CSR stuff? Drop all your hard truths / hot takes.

Why I might prefer Base over Blast - The early apps on Blast have too much gold. Newcomers feel disadvantaged. - Blast leans more towards degen-focused apps. - Base is part of the superchain. - Pacman didn’t fund Solady. Nor other public goods / hyperstructures that are not user-facing apps. - Coinbase smart wallet.

In addition to speculators, there are ppl on base that are actual consumers of apps, meaning they paid without expecting things to pump. they mint nice jpegs and articles etc. It's much healthier to iterate your product on these kinds of users and have a high chances of hitting genuine product market fit.. While blast tends to attract farmers who's mainly into farming and dumping your coins. They couldn't care less about your dapps as long as the farming is profitable.. So it would really hard to tell if your product is actually good or not. That said, native yield and CSR are really cool ideas and I hope Base and other chains would pick it up at certain point.

If I'm giving up security, I prefer to give it to Coinbase. Native yields end up being no yields because everyone has them

I think it's a combination of things 1. coinbase's focus and execution on ease of onboarding 2. both are centralized, but coinbase has a stronger reputation 3. branding
