Every streaming TV show represents a (min) 20-30 hour commitment ... But the incentives for quality are deeply misaligned.

I made an exception with Severance and regret it. Back to films after the finale.

This is just a quality problem.

Severance was picked up by Apple rubber-stamping some idiot’s pilot about hating work.

It’s no surprise Season 2 was the same idiot scrambling to make up bad story.

I am trying to fix it.

Read the article! They basically say the same thing (it's a quality) but suggest that there's only a finite number of good ideas with more mid shows being made that have the patina of quality. 

Idk if you agree, but its a fun overview of the weird incentive structure for streamers particularly and why it leads to mid tv shows.

Haven’t finished this season yet but have felt like I’m forcing myself to like it. 

Would have been a better Black Mirror episode tbh.

Wait why is episodic television bad?
