tech vs. absurd – you're not real – /addresso - /sauce – /cto

I totally get the rationale presented in that thread, in summary:

We are in the business of making things 10x better and cheaper, and this company is doing just that for cruise missles. 

But that utilitarian perspective is the sole one presented and so justifies doing business in any market so long as it drives some kind of market efficiency improvement. I hope this position is deliberately insincere, because YC holding it genuinely would be 10x more terrifying.

I am pro military tech but question YC's motivations.

They seem morally rudderless at the moment.

Paraphrasing Palmer Luckey on Anduril:

"We build the scariest things imaginable, so that we never have to use them"

To which I say "yeah right"

YC and American Innovation should be an intertwined story.

Build weapons if it means you are building cool tech. America used to build things - it should get back to that.
