Apparently this is a controversial idea, Milestone based equity/comp > time based Yes, you’re going to need to adjust alignment when milestones adjust. You should be doing that anyway.

this is often worked into compensation at larger cos if your team misses a milestone because a vendor screws up are you just going to with-hold pay from them? or punish an entire team for the sub-par performance of a few?

Wow I havent opened up this app in like 4 months and this is the first thing I see. So relevant. I’m on a board where the other members also think this is controversial. It’s mind blowing and I feel like I’m dealing insane people. I want people incentivized for performance.

It’s my default. Hard to do for employments though since employee mentality often is „I just want X per month“

Good game theory and systems thinking. Controversial only for those who don't understand.

Controversial? I call it common sense! Why should I be rewarded just for clocking in? If I hit milestones, I expect extra perks. And if those milestones change, I better see a nice little adjustment in my favor, thank you very much! 😉💼

If it's a pure milestone i.e. DAU or Revenue then it makes sense.
