Apparently my parents decided to get rid of their books when they moved because they didn’t have storage for them. A lifetime of books collected, 60 years worth, gone. Never do that.

I’m worried my grandmother might do this eventually. My grandfather passed earlier this year and he has bookshelves and boxes full of books. He gave me many from his collection over the years and it helped me understand him at a deeper level.

I enjoy getting rid of old books. Feels more important to me to have a small collection of relevant and significant books than a library I mostly tune out. Course, I don't have much space... Getting rid of something is really a matter of deciding whether I'll actually read it again.
