Cash is the hedge against full control by maniacs in the government and banks I guess. Full digitalisation can cascade to all sorts of bad things, China is not too keen on cash because they can’t control you by your social score.

KYC'd CBDCs, simply put, allow for turbo surveillance and censorship. It's the kind of power that authoritarians salivate over, and like many other powers we have allowed our governmemts to have over us in the name of "security" or convenience, would be nigh impossible to claw back.
