anyone who suggests we token-gate fundamentally doesn't understand live-streaming and how difficult it is to get people to show up at a specific time. adding additional constraints to entry is mid IQ. unlonely is about creating new novel experiences that anyone can enjoy. end of story.

anyone against token-gating fundamentally doesn't understand internet communities. boundaries are what determine insiders from outsiders, and everyone wants to be an insider. not having constraints is mid public read, token-gated write group chats and memecoin trading is a design space worth exploring. end of story.

I’ve found with /openventures that subscribers want to support the work and benefit from additional context but don’t mind that the channel is public Tokengated spaces are more powerful when connected to public profiles I’d love for the channel to be read only for non subscribers though, aside from recast

token-gating everything hurts distribution and creates a big barrier to entry for anyone curious or interrested I support token-gating as a feature but making it the default is a bad strategy if you want to grow and expand to new users

I get what you’re saying but I think the demand is low atm but could be a good future development. The ROI probably doesn’t make sense right now. /gmfarcaster wouldn’t token gate now but we are limiting our virtual meetup to holders (which won’t be streamed).
