I'm a digital nomad, so I run my setup at a friend's house in exchange for contributing to the internet bill and a free UPS to keep their internet up in power outages! I didn't want it to be too intrusive so it's disguised in a bookshelf. And if I ever need to, I can hard reboot it from afar with the smart power strip

Nice! I haven thought about having to reboot mine. Last time my power went out longer that the UPS could handle (my fault, changing an outlet), my NUC didn’t auto-turn back on. I need to configure that

Very cool. Do you ever have issues while you are traveling? Such as node not syncing? Or something else that requires you to debug? How often does that happen and how do you handle it as a nomad? 🥰

Just make sure and blow it out with a can of air next time you’re nearby. My nuc started overheating after a couple years.

This is great motivation! 🙌🏻🔷🛰️ Soon I'll be starting the research to stake remotely too before my next nomad adventure. Originally I thought I couldn't stake as a nomad until my friend's dad that builds custom home monitoring systems for his family, told me about smart power strips for restarts.
