I have also been doing the “4B” thing for a while now without necessarily intending to. I live in the middle of nowhere, am generally happy and fulfilled, and am not inclined to put much effort into dating because most of the time it’s not that great of an experience. If my person is out there he will find me.

Dipped my toes back into the dating pool, single men over 40 are not ok. I did meet a cute 20 something Apple engineer who gave me an employee discount on a new MacBook Pro though.

For what it’s both, I found success dipping my toes in but not swimming: I would check the app every couple days, look at people who liked me, and chat a bit
This kept my confidence high and hinge kept pushing my profile more to get me engage more
That led to an 18 month relationship but I wonder also if I had been more intentional in finding someone, whether that would have led to a relationship which lasted longer
