protein gram per calorie, to clarify 2000 calories worth of almonds probably has a decent amount of protein, but equivalent to 300cal of chicken. There's four factors that matter. 1. Amino acid profile -does this ingred have all? 2. Digestability/Bioavailability 3. Protein density 4. Essential nutrients - b12, etc

Basically does the protein source contain all essential amino acids. (leucine, etc.) Compared gram per gram, animal proteins typically contain more protein than plant proteins. Per 100-gram serving, chicken contains 220% more protein than tofu, 256% more protein than black beans, and 52% more protein than almonds.

It doesn't address the protein quality issue - the core question I want to figure out is what info is there that I'm missing that shows 100g of plant sources vs. 100g of chicken/eggs will be greater for anabolism i really don't care for the source as I am for info around that question. the meta doesn't tell me **why**

Ahh, appreciate it, am genuinely curious. No paper I've found has addressed the protein quality question , w/rt to equalizing calories between the sources. Can you share your up to date info around protein quality? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7926405/

Not meant as a personal attack, just asking a question ๐Ÿค™ Fwiw, similar sentiments have been echoed from many researchers, like dr.huberman (cliche, I know) , so curious if there was a point Iโ€™d not considered https://i.imgur.com/4BcbV2G.jpg

If youโ€™re not vegan or veggie for ethical or religious reasons, Iโ€™d definitely recommend you avoid this advice and stick w dairy/egg/animal protein . My assumption around protein quality also echoed by hubermam https://i.imgur.com/4p75wyX.jpg

Iโ€™m very skeptical of this study as amino acid makeup of protein in vegetarian vs. eggs/whey/animal is monumentally different.

Hmm , very curious about experimentation process, seems like a study of bunch of other studies Curious, as just by nature of protein quality in plants vs dairy/animal/eggs , usually veg has monumentally less amino acids & not complete proteins Has this paper addressed why exactly?

I don't have caffeine sensitivity, but typically friends that do pair it w coffee and find far more long-lasting/focused state w caffeine rather than typicaly jitteryness I've always been an advocate of "healthy, natural" caffeine (coffee, teas) as caffeine in it of itself isn't bad in <400mg / day quantities b4 2pm

I like Lex, but don't think he's ever started a business or managed anything outside of his podcast business (maybe 1 or 2 people max?) At least John Legere , who made a similar tweet month ago, would be somewhat relevant in terms of turning a business that was bad >> good

most of the negativity i see (and that I agree with tbh) is just mastadon is a horrible experience to use in it's current state from a UX standpoint, nor is the discussions/quality of content there good either.

aside from mastadon's horrible UX, every convo there is literally centered just around twitter, found nothing of quality so far in terms of discussions I wanted to escape the discourse โ„ข๏ธ about twitter, not just read it again in a way worse experience Signal to noise >> everything tbh

read the book too long ago to remember, but most of it is probably based on vibes: Yuval harrari likes to align himself w a lot of the Bill Gates, ted talks, malcolm gladwell, steven pinker, etc. etc. type people So naturally association principle , probably

Tried signing up for a mastadon just to see what it;s like, and it's a beyond horrible UX/onboarding exp / format. Obv I like how each "subreddit" has it's own mod rules, but it's like reddit except having to create an account for every subreddit you join. Absolutely pathetic. I see farcaster remaining as best alt.

Try pairing your next coffee w l the anime. If sensitive, it helps make coffee effects last longer w less jittery ness
