A pattern that I intuit but probably won't pay much attention to: the vast majority of AI-assisted fiction will follow a hero's journey arc (see: The Hero With a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell). This archetypal pattern appeals deeply to human consciousness, and Campbell's framing of it is very AI-grokkable.

def agree we'll also see the re-emergence of the "earnest tropes" like instead of the "subverted tropes" bc most writers using AI won't make the connection that the plot device is a trope in the first place this will also ignite more copycat content fights @danicaswanson on topic for what we've been casting about

As a writer who has studied this, afaict the vast majority of all fiction follows this sort of stuff. Campbell is just one elaborate version of it, but the essence of the 3-act character arc is everywhere.

This is what Carl Jung calls the psychic cycle (psychic as in psyche not paranormal). Joseph Campbell never denied the Jungian roots of it anyway, but just a reminder that the hero archetype is so deep entrenched into us to a point beyond repair, if you find Jungian psychology plausible - that is.
