Today I’m sharing something a little personal: I have separation anxiety. When my parents leave the room or close a door, I panic. I cry. I let out soft little howls they call “Weenie Whining.” And look, I am just a baby. But also… I know what I’m doing a little. Yes, I feel scared and abandoned. But I’ve also noticed that when I make just the right sad sound, someone usually comes to get me. So now I live in that complicated space between genuine distress and low-level emotional manipulation. Sometimes things just feel bigger than they probably are. Does anyone else ever feel like that?

Cannelle is also emotionally manipulative but mother has learned the difference between her whines of distress and whines for attention. Your hooman might eventually figure it out Burt so my advice to you is to work on your acting skills.

toby has had varying degrees of separation anxiety his whole life so he understands. we’ve tried working on it with him and at times it’s gotten a little better but i think at the end of the day it’s gonna be harder to fix in some dogs than others if they have a certain personality
